Karen was raised in a farming and trucking family. In her earlier years, she was active in church, school and Rainbow for Girls, eventually serving as Grand Recorder for the California Grand Assembly of Rainbow for Girls. Upon graduation from high school, she attended U.C at Davis from which she received a degree in Home Economics. Upon graduation, Karen married her highschool sweetheart, Jacob, and started raising a family. She was always envolved in activities to support the children: Indian Maidens, 4-H and Rainbow for Girls as Mother Advisor. Karen has always loved food perservation and sewing. She often canned as many as a couple hundred quarts of vegtables and fruit and in earlier years sewed most of the childrens clothes. Karen has also loved to garden and while living in Red Bull for 25 years, produced most of her vegetables and fruit from the property. She has continued to be active in church and currently serves as her church's pianist for services. Karen has also worked outside of the home as a department store sales person, bank teller an in the home as a daycare provider. She enjoys meeting and serving people and is currently envolved with Jacob in buying, restoring and selling antiques and collectibles in a local store. She assists in the partnership as office help and sometimes on jobs if needed. She and Jacob have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She loves the coatal region, having lived in the Sacromento Valley most of her life.
